Designed for high school and middle school
students, R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Groups are implemented over the course of a semester on a weekly basis in a same-sex
atmosphere. Generally, groups of ten students meet during the school day on premises. Because of the sensitive nature of the topics addressed the students are expected to uphold the dignity of other group members by participating and keeping all personal information shared confidential.
The program emphasizes the development of life skills for positive decision making through numerous
educational activities including journaling and discussion. Class work is tailored to the needs of each group. School administrators determine how to select students for R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Groups for Guys and Girls.
