Character Development Education
Character education encourages youth to act responsibly and to care about the world around them. It helps students survive in the job market and handle conflicts peacefully. Schools reap the benefits of character education when students behave respectfully in hallways and responsibly in classrooms.
Schools which have added character development curriculum and can enlist NFHC's Community Educators to help. Our educators know how to encourage dialogue among students and understand the societal issues students face.
Our program helps students investigate the roots of violence, identify and appropriately name their experiences, and develop conflict resolution skills. Through these discoveries, students better understand themselves and the consequences and effects of their actions. One small pebble can make a big ripple in a pond.
Curriculum includes:
- Self Esteem Building
- Respectful Communication
- Civic Leadership and Responsibility
- Non-Violent Behavior and Bullying
- Gender/Cultural Issues
- ...and other topics
Presentations are structured around age and knowledge-level of audiences. All presentations generally last one to two hours or can be divided into multiple sessions.
