Sometimes you and your child just need time apart to work problems out.
NFHC’s Time-Out is a special outreach to families having a hard time. Time-Out works as a safety net for parents who have reached their limits of patience and insight with their children.
It allows a child to stay in our Children’s Shelter for a short time while issues and difficulties are addressed between parents and child. This allows parents and children a few days break from one another, providing a chance to cool off, collect their thoughts and start over with a new approach.
Time-Out gives parents and children a chance to talk with a family counselor, alone or together to sort out issues.
The Time-Out Program is provided in conjunction with the Alternatives Center (823 North Clay, 214-9050).
