Northland Family Help Center Women's Shelter at HALO House provides:
- A 24-bed secured facility serving as a safe, comfortable refuge for women escaping relationship violence
- Professional counseling and crisis intervention with agency staff
- Advocacy, education, support and referrals for obtaining services from other agencies
- A non-violent, self-esteem enhancing living and playing environment for children of battered women
Three Programs
The Women's Shelter provides respite and care for women and their children to reside at HALO House from one night to 90 days depending on circumstances and their recovery. However, the Shelter provides three distinct programs:
- Homeless women and their children may stay six nights at HALO House.
- Female victims of domestic abuse and their children may stay 30 days.
- Women and their children may stay up to 90 days in the Pathways Program.

Order of Protections
An Order of Protection can be filed when an act or threat of violence has occurred. Call your local law enforcement agency is you need protection.
Keep a copy of your Order of Protection with you at all times. If your child is covered in the Order, be sure to leave a copy with the child's school, babysitter , your lawyer and your employer.
